Texturize It is a freeware application that allows users to create textures for 2D and 3D images without the complexity of specialized image editing tools and targeted at the more inexperienced crowd that wants to try new things out.
The setup is very normal, offering to create shortcuts to the desktop, Start menu and Quick Launch bar as well as to change the installation location. Other than that, the user can simply click on Next and the setup will finish just fine. The supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8x.
While the majority of image editing tools rely on heavily cluttering the interface with an abundance of buttons, options, toolbars, utilities and whatever else you might think of, Texturize It focuses on simplicity instead. As I mentioned before, it is one of those programs that is aimed at users that are not used to this kind of thing. As such, the application takes care of pretty much everything on its own, although there are some basic texture settings present for those willing to learn them.
Texturizing an image is stupidly simple. You insert an image into the program, select a texture from the list, and click on the Texturize it! button. With these three steps you will immediately get a texturized image with several options to go to from there. First of all, the program automatically renders nine different versions of the same texture so that you can pick and choose whatever you want. All the versions vary greatly from one another so users are encouraged to check them all out before diving into the settings.
There are four different settings for the textures and you do not even need to know what you are doing in order to use them. In fact, playing around with the textures and the settings is very fun and can yield some very interesting results, although you might not get it right the first few times. The process is fast, easy and enjoyable though so you will not mind at all. As far as the created images are concerned, they are obviously not as good as a Photoshop expert could accomplish but the fact that they are created in mere seconds makes up for that.
That is also precisely where Texturize It puts all of its weight on. Users that appreciate simplicity will feel right at home here as most of the processes are done completely automatically. It is strange that some standard functions like dragging and dropping are not supported but these little annoyances do not take away from the experience at all. It is really quite cool to see your standard images being texturized and you can even load up your very own custom textures to create even more personalized images which is really great.
-Loads of default textures to choose from
-Fully automated yet beautiful results
-Might be a bit too limited for some people
Texturize It is an amazing little application that can quickly create neat texturized images out of anything with minimal user input. That last part is also what makes it so incredible and fun to work with, especially if you are inexperienced in image editing yet want to view texturized results in your pictures.
