Backing up the data in your system is crucial in this day and age because most people keep very important files in their computers that they cannot afford to lose. R-Drive Image ensures that your files will be accessible by letting you create backup images that you can store anywhere.
The installation process is very standard. The setup is fast and presents no issues. The supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8 as well as Windows Servers 2003 and up.
The first tab of the interface simply gives some information on the basic features offered by the application as well as provide a link to the full version of the application while informing the user that they are currently in the Trial one. Clicking on the next button will take you to the main interface where you can choose one of the various actions available.
Each action has an extremely easy to use process and their names pretty much explain their functions. However, rolling your mouse over any of them will also give a short description on what the action does and what it can be used for. However, since that description is fairly short you might still be confused. Fret not because the application offers an exhaustingly extensive Help manual that truly covers each and every aspect of the application, including the actions and what goes on in the background.
There are a lot of actions that you can take. Creating an image or a Startup disk, restoring data from an image you have created already, checking an image file for corrupted data, copying disk data to another disk, connecting an image as a Virtual logical Disk and finally, creating a schedule or a script that will automatically perform the actions you assign at the times you assign. The actions are all incredibly easy because each step is a guided one. You should never feel confused by the processes as the technical terms are immensely simplified to appeal to a larger and less experienced crowd of people.
The process is the same for each action. Choose the action you want, proceed to the basic options, browse your computer for the files you want to edit or for the output folder of the files you want to create and then finish the process by choosing some more advanced options. The image creation utility for example will let you choose the speed of the image creation which will also directly determine the size of the file that will be created. The faster the speed the larger the file so keep that in mind as well.
