Microsoft Edge is the modern replacement for the antiquated Internet Explorer. While it’s not as popular as Chrome or Mozilla (at least not yet), Edge does support all the latest web standards and it extremely fast. One of the ways to make it more functional is to make Microsoft Edge open tabs from previous browsing session.

Like other useful features, this one is not enabled by default. However, it’s certainly nice to have your previous browsing session restored as soon as you open the browser and have peace of mind when you close it in a hurry, knowing you’ll be able to access all those tabs next time you open it.

Edge might have started as a basic browser, but since then Microsoft added plenty of useful features to it, including extension support.

Since it’s not enabled by default, here’s how you can make Microsoft Edge open tabs from previous browsing session.

Open the Edge browser and click on the three-dots menu button then select “Settings”.

In the Settings pane, there’s an option called “Open Microsoft Edge with”. Click on the drop-down menu below.

Select “Previous pages” from the available options. That’s it!

From then on, Microsoft Edge will open the tabs from the last session. It doesn’t matter if you closed it manually, or it crashed, the previous session will be loaded next time you open it.
