Bigger Directories - Manage long paths in Windows to overcome the MAX_PATH limitation

When moving or copying files stored under multiple subfolder levels it is possible to get an error that the operating system is unable to find the file. This is because the Windows API restricts the maximum length of a path to 260 characters.

Bigger Directories is a useful application that lets you manage long paths and bypass the MAX_PATH limitation as it allows you to create folder repositories containing temporary files. Folder repositories support up to 1000 folders and structured nested 2000 deep.

The program offers folder creation limited to the drive root path, plus you won’t be able to revisit nodes that have been added in the folder tree structures.

Also, Bigger Directories cannot handle Shell objects or symbolic links. However, it does offer a simple solution to overcome MAX_PATH by creating a temporary file where you can move files automatically.
