Pros

Easy to use

Cons

Too easy to use, does not keep a record of deleted keys or offer a way to undelete

Summary

I used this software once to look for possible malware and to tidy up. I recognised most of the keys it offered to delete, and I said "no" to deleting them; they were software that I wanted to keep. But there were two that looked suspicious, so I deleted them.
Next day I wanted to use the Control Panel but the system couldn't find it and was giving me a windows error. I did a CHKDSK in case there was a file error, but all seemed clean. Then I thought I'd log on as another user to see if Windows still couldn't find the Control panel. Hey presto, it was back. Re-logged on again as me, and the problem is back; therefore it must be a registry error, not a disk error. Since installing Registry Alert was the only change I had made, I decided to restore the system backup I had done two days previously - what luck! The change worked, and I'm back to normal. If I could have undone the damage that RC did to my system without a system restore, I would have done so, but the software doesn't track what it has deleted, only what I refused to delete. Silly programming, in my view, and I'm better off without this potentially dangerous software.
