Gridy is a small application that ads an invisible grid to your desktop and allows any window to be snapped to it. Once aligned into the “matrix”, the window can be flagged as “always on top” or simply, set it to semi-transparent . Ya, it’s very annoying, I agree. Every time when Windows has finished installing some updates, the all-knowing dialog pops asking you if you want to restart now or restart later for all changes to take effect. But what if I’m doing something and I can’t restart? It’s fine, says Windows, press “Restart Later”. Oh great, says the user, pressing joyfully on Restart Later. But what on earth…the dialog appears again after a short while, asking the user the same thing? Hey heyyyy….!

Microsoft just announced that Windows 7 XP Mode entered the Release Candidate stage and it’s available for download. For those unfamiliar, the XP Mode for Windows 7 allows users to run older or crankier applications that are not compatible with Windows 7.

Well, I need to start by saying, good job there! IE is still a crapy browser and altough I really love the new Windows 7, Firefox still ruls my kingdom. The Europeean Union made the suggestion that Microsoft should include multiple browsers into their new OS. Microsoft didn’t take the suggestion very well and, like a spoiled kid, they announced IE won’t be included at all for all Windows 7 versions shipped to the EU. Well, Microsoft, I could care less really…
