There are many maniacs on this planet and I’m one of them. Of course, the disease is Windows XP and the central problem is its boot speed. Yes, throw rocks at us but you know what, if my Windows isn’t a fast booter, half my nails are gone.
Even if this isn’t news for many, removing the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications Tool is still a hassle for most users, so we have decided to teach you how to remove it completely from your Windows XP system. For those who don’t know, the “My Recent Documents” menu from the Windows XP’s Start Menu records any current document activity and places a shortcut to the recent opened(used) file within that menu. You may have noticed that when your Windows is downloading updates and fixes, upon booting, it will not login into your account automatically. The cause of this ‘problem’ is most often the .NET Framework installation that adds an additional user account called ASPNET. This question popped in our heads many times in the past and for some, it’s still an enigma. So, I will try to clarify what is svchost.exe, what’s used for and why in some occasions it eats your CPU.
What is svchost.exe?
According to Microsoft, “svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries” or, in plain English, svchost.exe is a system program that is needed by Windows to launch other programs that cannot be run without being hosted (thus the generic host process).

We may witness history, as Windows XP can become the most longevive operating system as long as Microsoft won’t have any problem to reanimate it from time to time.
