There are many maniacs on this planet and I’m one of them. Of course, the disease is Windows XP and the central problem is its boot speed. Yes, throw rocks at us but you know what, if my Windows isn’t a fast booter, half my nails are gone.

For those who don’t know, the “My Recent Documents” menu from the Windows XP’s Start Menu records any current document activity and places a shortcut to the recent opened(used) file within that menu. You may have noticed that when your Windows is downloading updates and fixes, upon booting, it will not login into your account automatically. The cause of this ‘problem’ is most often the .NET Framework installation that adds an additional user account called ASPNET. What is svchost.exe?
According to Microsoft, “svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that run from dynamic-link libraries” or, in plain English, svchost.exe is a system program that is needed by Windows to launch other programs that cannot be run without being hosted (thus the generic host process).
