microsoftMicrosoft finally realised that Live One Care was a fiasco and decided to throw another free security application on the table, Microsoft Security Essentials. Basically what you get is, and let’s quote Microsoft on this “…you get high-quality protection against viruses and spyware, including Trojans, worms and other malicious software. And best of all, there are no costs or annoying subscriptions to keep track of.”

asp_scanMany developers are offering free security applications that can scan your computer for spyware or viruses free, but they won’t clean them until you pay for that program. Of course, there are applications that find a great number of false threats on your system, just to pull out those dollars from your pocket. Advanced System Protector didn’t fall in any category and it’s actually capable of scanning your system AND cleaning the found threats for free. You might also think that a free security application it’s very weak compared with its paid counterparts, again, you might be pleasantly suprised.
