Google just announced that they released a new hot stable version of Chrome the 3rd. Google brags with increased speeds and comes with some benchmarking, especially for you. As you can see, the SunSpider benchmark looks very good, beating the crap out of … everybody. The new tab page suffered a look change but this is the least important part. Chrome comes heavily armed for HTML5, which emphasizes the <video> and <audio> tags.
New themes are also present in this new Chrome release, making it even more customizable. You can read more about this stable release on the official Google Blog, but I’ll go play with it some more.

Microsoft just released an update version of the popular Windows Live Movie Maker, part of the Windows Live Essentials installer. With this update, Microsoft focused on simplicity and user friendliness. More effects, transitions and editing features are promised along with a big bad YouTube import button.

Microsoft just announced that Windows 7 XP Mode entered the Release Candidate stage and it’s available for download. For those unfamiliar, the XP Mode for Windows 7 allows users to run older or crankier applications that are not compatible with Windows 7.

No wonder that Firefox has so many fans, myself included. The all debated version jump from 3.1 to 3.5 it’s finally here and it doesn’t dissapoint in any way, so far. Developers have promised increased JS loads via their internat TraceMonkey engine and, as we saw in the Beta, it’s a huge improvement.

It seems that Microsoft messed up the math a little and the Release Candidate version announced to be launched in April, will actually come somwhere in May. The source, ArsTechnica, reports that the download page on TechNet had a rather strange early appearance, but we are used to those ‘errors’ since Beta.

Mozilla just released the first Beta version of Fennec, its mobile browser. This version is the most expected mobile browser, while Firefox dominates the computer area, Opera has the supremacy on the mobile market. Fennec steppes into the game slowly but full of confidence.

It seems that the Opera Dev Team was pretty busy over the last month, after the latest release of Opera Mini and Opera 10 Alpha, comes a stable update, Opera 9.63. This update comes as a response to some security issues that Opera had lately and all users are advised to update it. The update can be made directly from the browser, from the Help menu, the “Chek for Updates” option, or by manually downloading Opera 9.63 from FileCluster or its official ftp.

Well, the WordPress dev team announced the release of the 2.7 version several days ago, but unfortunately got stalled a little. However, WordPress 2.7 codename Coltrane was launched several hours ago and it’s aiming to impress. This new WordPress build comes with many interesting new features, a face lift and many improvements and security fixes.
