Puzzles are one of the most popular categories for online games, providing casual game-play for some moments of relaxation and when it comes to platform-games we are used to see some common characteristics that repeat themselves from one game to another and very few original features.
That’s probably why a puzzle platformer would make us think of jumping, running and collecting coins or jewels like in Mario, which is nice but getting kind of old. znRevolutions managed to surprise us with the original idea of implementing a cylindrical platform that requires minimum jumping, no running and maximum coordination of actions.

Skype has announced that it will release the 4th version of the popular client. The Skype 4.0 version is still in Beta for the past several months. but the final version will arrive somewhere at the start of February, officials announced. The new Skype version will be focused on the video conferencing, making it a key feature in the new improved interface. Also, Skype 4.o will feature a new codec which will handle audio and video streams way more efficiently than the previous one, giving smoother video and clearer voice calls.

After a long wait, Google decided to throw Picasa finally at the Mac community. Google announced that Picasa will be available for Mac users starting 5 January. Of course, Picasa starts off as a Beta for the Mac, but hey, that’s Google’s tradition. Google Picasa is a good picture manager with a web component. Shortly, Picasa can edit, organize your digital photos with the option of sharing them to your friends using the Picasa portal.

As of today, Adobe is extending its AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) platform to the Linux desktops, covering a gap and making the family ‘whole’. Previously avilable only for the Windows and Mac platforms, AIR is now available for Ubuntu, Fedora, Open SUSE and others. Adrian Ludwig of Adobe stated: “We’re experiencing nearly 100 million installations of Adobe AIR on Mac and Windows by the end of this year”.

Well, the WordPress dev team announced the release of the 2.7 version several days ago, but unfortunately got stalled a little. However, WordPress 2.7 codename Coltrane was launched several hours ago and it’s aiming to impress. This new WordPress build comes with many interesting new features, a face lift and many improvements and security fixes.

We can’t say we didn’t expected that and personally, I’m surprised it happened now. While still the dominant software company, Microsoft started to lose ground for the Windows OS and people are more attracted to other platforms, such as Mac or Linux. Microsoft has Windows 7 in its sleeve, but nobody can predict at this point how much will Windows 7 repair what Vista collapsed.

WordPress 2.7 was in its beta stage for a while now and users were getting a little impatient. So, the good news is that Automatic, the company behind WordPress announced that WordPress 2.7 will be launched officially tommorow 8 PM Eastern Time.
