Sounds simple? It is simple. Let’s take example our beloved browser, Firefox, which, in our stress test, extended its arms for additional resources and we don’t want that, at this time.

It seems like the number of cyber criminals is growing and it reached the Mac users. The Mac systems were unaffected for a long time, the worst case scenarios were trojans that needed several confirmation from the user, to be installed and infect the system. Now, things may be a little different, as Apple posted on their support site last month. Apple strongly encourages the use of security solutions, such as anti-virus software or anti-spyware.

Since not so long time ago, Mac users didn’t had any real torrent clients available. Transmission came into the set, but was very buggy, then Azureus ( now Vuze ), who was and is in my opinion a resource eater. At this moment, Transmission is the most viable solution for Mac OS, but let’s see for how long. uTorrent transformed a simple rumor into reality, announcing the first Mac Beta version. uTorrent is a lightweight version of the popular BitTorrent client and if you ask the community, probably the best torrent client.

We, the Mac users always wanted to have a good, strong, handsome Mac virus that can tear up our systems and make Windows users think they have flies instead of viruses onto their PC’s. Unfortunately, Mac OS isn’t a good environment to sustain our fetishes and the big bad Mac viruses need to work harder than that. Now, putting the joke aside, there weren’t any real virus threats within the Mac community, but some sources, claim that the new Mac virus will hack and crack and whatnot.

Apple just released an update for the raw digital camera support in Leopard, iPhone ’08 and Aperture 2. After this update, the following digital cameras have been added and supported:

- Nikon D90

- Sony DSLR-A900

- Canon EOS 50D

The BitDefender family has crossed the Windows platform and gained a new member within the Mac OS universe. SoftWin, the team behind BitDefender, released the Mac version of the popular security software solution.

The software package includes the popular BitDefender scanner, real-time protection and automatic updates. BitDefender 2009 wants to keep your computer away from spyware, malware and viruses, all in real-time using the latest engine and signatures. While Mac users haven’t really needed a security solution, SoftWin’s intentions regarding BitDefender aren’t very clear so far.

The popular open-source office suite  OpenOffice.org had its 3.0 version update officially announced today by its developers. OpenOffice.org comes bundled with many new features and improvements but I think the most important are, its Mac OS compatibility and the support for the OpenDocument 1.2 Format standard.
