Airytec’s Switch Off is a nifty little utility that can restart/shutdown your computer or simply just lock it down. Of course, this isn’t its main advantage, the utility has also a web interface that allows you to connect from anywhere in the world via any computer or phone. The utility has a very intuitive interface and it’s rich with options, making it good for inexperienced users and advanced users or admins.

NoRedirect is a Firefox/SeaMonkey extension that lets the user take control of HTTP redirects. It can be used to interdict an ISP’s DNS search redirection hijacks, preview/screen “shortened” URLs, stop the annoying redirection of “smart” error pages, etc. Shortly, the NoRedirect Firefox Extension is a very helpful FF extension, grating the user some control over many of those “spamy” redirects.
