Although MAC (Media Access Control) addresses were designed to represent a network card’s ID and were designed as permanent, some software and techiques allow us to easily change (or “Spoof”) the MAC address easily.

Change the MAC manually under Windows XP

Method 1

mac address spoofGo the the Ethernet Adapter’s Properties menu, the Advanced Tab and you can see a filed named: “MAC Address”, “Network Address” or “Ethernet Address”, depending entirely on the network card’s driver.

Using this method you can change the MAC address very fast, in a matter of clicks.

Note that some network cards don’t have this featured enabled, but those are rare cases.
