GOM Player Main

Every respectable PC user has a preferred media player program and some could be using the same one for years. But we must accept the fact that as time goes by, better applications emerge while others fall behind even if at one point they were top-notch programs with the richest set of features, and this applies to media players as well.

So let’s take a look at GOM Player, see what’s under the hood and more importantly…if it’s worth making it our regular video playback tool. It’s a highly appreciated free program, even if there are other media players significantly more popular, this particular application focuses on providing a comfortable playback experience through a generous collection of useful features.

KMPlayer (Korean Media Player)  is a media player recently acquired and developed by Pandora TV and released in full version on June 20th 2011, after a few years of initial beta testing and numerous beta releases.  Overall this media player is very promising and manages to deliver a high-quality experience to the user. Although the interface might look simple, beneath it lays a strong core that allows the player to handle a large amount of video and subtitle formats, alongside a large number of customization options.

win7codecsI promised to myself I’ll install Windows 7 when it reaches the final stage, but I couldn’t resist the Release Candidate, so here I am. Of course, one must be able to play all the multimedia files it can get and movies are an important part of that ‘multimedia’. Fortunately, Windows 7 comes covered in that area and not from Microsoft but from the creator of Vista Codec Package, another life saver back in the days. Win7codecs is the new Windows 7 codec package that once installed, plays everything and I mean everything.
