AVG Technologies, formerly Grisoft, the people behind AVG, the popular freeware antivirus, just released LinkScanner, a browser plug-in designated to protect your daily internet browsing adventure. AVG LinkScanner protects you from visiting malicious websites, kinda the same job as SiteAdvisor, the direct competitor from McAfee. AVG LinkScanner scans all the search results from the popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and displays an icon if the web address is safe or not for you to visit.

The browser war is far from over, the main battle being disputed over JavaScript supremacy. I don’t know about you, but when I think browsers I think about Mozilla’s Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera, being the 3 top contenders. Ya, I don’t think about IE at all..moving along. Today, Mozilla decided release the beast into the public and here it is, the second beta for Firefox 3.1. Probably one of the important features of Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 is its private browsing feature, a feature that was missing from Firefox all along.
