Rootkits were and still are a pain in the behind for many of us. A rookit is basically a piece of maliciouos software that allows an attacker to do stuff, bad stuff with your system. It scans for:
- hidden processes
- hidden threads
- hidden modules
- hidden services
- hidden files
- hidden Alternate Data Streams
- hidden registry keys
- drivers hooking SSDT
- drivers hooking IDT
- drivers hooking IRP calls
- inline hooks
You can give Gmer a test try, it doesn’t load as resident and eats almost no memory. For instructions, features and changelogs, please visit the developer’s website.
