asp_scanMany developers are offering free security applications that can scan your computer for spyware or viruses free, but they won’t clean them until you pay for that program. Of course, there are applications that find a great number of false threats on your system, just to pull out those dollars from your pocket. Advanced System Protector didn’t fall in any category and it’s actually capable of scanning your system AND cleaning the found threats for free. You might also think that a free security application it’s very weak compared with its paid counterparts, again, you might be pleasantly suprised.

appremoverI think we all had problems uninstalling troublesome security products such as anti-viruses or anti-spyware applications. The main reason behind this is that many security programs leave alot of traces behind such as registry entires or files, that interfere with the well-being of the system or better yet, create even more problems when we need to install other security applications or newser versions. Unfortunately, this problem isn’t quite so 90′s, it seems many of the top security solutions are ‘rooting’ themselves in our systems.

It seems like the number of cyber criminals is growing and it reached the Mac users. The Mac systems were unaffected for a long time, the worst case scenarios were trojans that needed several confirmation from the user, to be installed and infect the system. Now, things may be a little different, as Apple posted on their support site last month. Apple strongly encourages the use of security solutions, such as anti-virus software or anti-spyware.

We, the Mac users always wanted to have a good, strong, handsome Mac virus that can tear up our systems and make Windows users think they have flies instead of viruses onto their PC’s. Unfortunately, Mac OS isn’t a good environment to sustain our fetishes and the big bad Mac viruses need to work harder than that. Now, putting the joke aside, there weren’t any real virus threats within the Mac community, but some sources, claim that the new Mac virus will hack and crack and whatnot.

Check Point, the company behind the ZoneAlarm software suite, decided to give away the ZoneAlarm Pro suite for free, for just a day, tomorrow. Now I don’t know if their servers will handle the possible requests for 1 day but don’t say we didn’t told you.

This is probably the most annoying yet funny mobile bug I know at this point and it’s happening within the all mighty Android. Shortly, every word you type on your ‘Google Phone’, any phone running Android more specific, will interpret those words as shell commands and Android will run them in superuser mode. Isn’t that great? Yes it is!
