I think everybody knows that adding external subtitles to a movie can become boring and slow-ish, especially when you need to rename every subtitle to match the name of the movie file, so your player can pick it up automatically. Skype has announced that it will release the 4th version of the popular client. The Skype 4.0 version is still in Beta for the past several months. but the final version will arrive somewhere at the start of February, officials announced. The new Skype version will be focused on the video conferencing, making it a key feature in the new improved interface. Also, Skype 4.o will feature a new codec which will handle audio and video streams way more efficiently than the previous one, giving smoother video and clearer voice calls.

ID3 Kill is a small application that scans your system for audio files and can remove the ID3 tags from the files, either the ID3v1 or ID3v2 tags. The application is very simple to use, you just need to slect the working music directory and apply some of the options such as remove the id3v1 and id3v2 tags or clean the playlists. Although there are other free applications, such as MP3Tag that can also add ID3 tags, ID3 Kill it does its job pretty good and fast.

When I heard about Songbird and it’s features, I became somehow very interested. I have installed it and was placed face to face with an iTunes clone (almost identical interface), which dissapointed me without even testing the actual product. Then I said to myself, hey, if it looks like iTunes, it’s not iTunes and, I was right. Songbird is a brilliant media player, which promises alot and I’m sure it will deliver.
