We can’t say we didn’t expected that and personally, I’m surprised it happened now. While still the dominant software company, Microsoft started to lose ground for the Windows OS and people are more attracted to other platforms, such as Mac or Linux. Microsoft has Windows 7 in its sleeve, but nobody can predict at this point how much will Windows 7 repair what Vista collapsed.

The paradox, however,  is that the percentage of Vista users went up( 20% ) while the number of users using WIndows XP dropped. The predictions aren’t in Microsoft’s favor but like I said, maybe Windows 7 will somehow manage to change this sliding line.

    Comment for “Windows is losing ground and reached a new low level” article;

    I don’t understand the point you were trying to get across, if you were trying to stay neutral, it just made the article vague. The reason Vista users went up is because you cannot even buy a new PC or laptop without Vista (unless it’s mac). It’s impossible to downgrade to XP, how do I know this? I work for a major retailer and that is what I see, I’ve also bought a new computer this year, of course it comes with Vista, I downgraded to XP and it made sure it crashed atleast three times per day. I wish I’d bought a mac. It seems lots of computer manufacturers have sold their souls to MicroSoft by locking their computers so that you are not able to downgrade.

    Vista just plainly sucks, I don’t know why they are still craming it down our troughs if after two years, we are still not happy with the it. Give the people what they want, I’m sure it’s not due to lack of opinions.

    Well, people can choose now and they can step outside the “TV” box and buy a Mac machine, install Linux or just simple, configure a system without Vista pre-installed and install XP or whatnot
