It seems that the Opera Dev Team was pretty busy over the last month, after the latest release of Opera Mini and Opera 10 Alpha, comes a stable update, Opera 9.63. This update comes as a response to some security issues that Opera had lately and all users are advised to update it. The update can be made directly from the browser, from the Help menu, the “Chek for Updates” option, or by manually downloading Opera 9.63 from FileCluster or its official ftp.
From the changelog, we can underline the following fixes/changes:
- HTML parsing flaw can cause Opera to execute arbitrary code, as reported by Alexios Fakos
- Script injection in feed preview can reveal contents of unrelated news feeds
- Fixed an issue that could reveal random data
- Manipulating text input contents can allow execution of arbitrary code
Also, Opera 9.63 incorporates the Opera Presto 2.1.1 user agent engine, which supports all the web standards.
