We know by now that many Google projects are Beta and after many years, still in Beta (see Gmail) and the community seems somehow upset by this. Google decided today that Chrome, their in-house browser, must lose its “Beta” presence for uknown reasons, so far. My guess is that due to the fact that important Google projects were kept in Beta until they were dropped, community and fans become rather skeptical about Chrome. Well, Chrome is Google Chrome now but don’t be fooled, it’s still a Beta with numerous bugs and flaws.
While I’m a Chrome fan myself, I think Google did a desperate move by forcing Chrome out of its Beta status. Well, at least now we know that Google is pretty serious with Chrome and is here to stay…we hope.
