Apple removes the official anti-virus advice

In a previous article, we told you that Apple advised its users officially to install anti-virus software for their Macs. It seems that the official Apple statement started alot of buzz on the internet and today, Apple removed its ‘advice’ from the site, stating that people misunderstood it. Well, lets see how the advice sounded, shall we?

“Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult.”

An Apple spokesman said that “”the Mac is designed with built-in technologies that provide protection against malicious software and security threats right out of the box.”. While this is true, Apple’s move was strange, to stay the least.
