Apple advises the use of anti-virus solutions for Mac OS

It seems like the number of cyber criminals is growing and it reached the Mac users. The Mac systems were unaffected for a long time, the worst case scenarios were trojans that needed several confirmation from the user, to be installed and infect the system. Now, things may be a little different, as Apple posted on their support site last month. Apple strongly encourages the use of security solutions, such as anti-virus software or anti-spyware.
Apple also advised the use of more than one security product and this shows us exactly how bad the Mac security can be affected. Apple also names several anti-virus products that may keep your Macs clean: Symantec Norton Antivirus 11, McAfee VirusScan or Intego VirusBarrier X5. Keep in mind that many software companies are developing Mac security solutions as we speak and we can also include the new BitDefender for Mac.
