Since not so long time ago, Mac users didn’t had any real torrent clients available. Transmission came into the set, but was very buggy, then Azureus ( now Vuze ), who was and is in my opinion a resource eater. At this moment, Transmission is the most viable solution for Mac OS, but let’s see for how long. uTorrent transformed a simple rumor into reality, announcing the first Mac Beta version. uTorrent is a lightweight version of the popular BitTorrent client and if you ask the community, probably the best torrent client.

Unfortunately, uTorrent was available only for Windows users, until this moment. uTorrent for Mac basically keeps the same interface as its Windows counterpart but has some features misssing, such as the RSS downloader. Being a Beta version, I’m confident that uTorrent will live up to its hype even on Mac and this news can only bring us joy.

Transmission, your move!

Please note that uTorrent for Mac works only with Mac OS 10.5 Intel (Leopard)
