While personally I don’t dislike Norton or any of the Symantec products, everybody knows that Norton is a resource eating application and many of its users give up on Norton in favor of other security solutions such as Kaspersky, AVG, Avira etc.
Now, Norton is a little tricky to uninstall due to the fact that it leaves many registry entries and folders intact. Personally, I’m comparing Norton to the russian roulette, because you’ll never know what’s leaving behind. Fortunatelly tho, Symantec created a tool that removes Norton almost completely, named Norton Removal Tool or SymNRT (its older name).
Norton Removal Tool will remove any Norton 2009/2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products, Norton 360 and Norton SystemWorks 12.0 from your computer. While this tool comes in very handy and does the job almost perfectly, I found it to leave several files and registry entries behind.
