Many Ubuntu users have reported frequent problems within Ubuntu with the Caps Lock, Shift or the Control keys. The specified keys stop working  randomly and an Ubuntu restart is required to re-enable them. While this problem isn’t a major one within Ubuntu, it’s not currently fixed or planned by the developers.

There is however a fix, which resets the keyboard map and prevents us from rebooting the machines, the “setxkbmap” command. Now let’s hope that in the near future, this small bug will be fixed, it’s annoying for many.

This isn’t a ‘how to fix’ its just a reporting of the problem and a total waste of time
