Android silently runs everything you type, worst bug ever
This is probably the most annoying yet funny mobile bug I know at this point and it’s happening within the all mighty Android. Shortly, every word you type on your ‘Google Phone’, any phone running Android more specific, will interpret those words as shell commands and Android will run them in superuser mode. Isn’t that great? Yes it is!
Issue 1207 from the Android Project Page relates the bug: android appears to be watching text streams and acting upon them. There is also a funny story behind this discovery, as an Android user relates:
“I was in the middle of a text conversation with my girl when she asked why I hadn’tresponded. I had just rebooted my phone and the first thing I typed was a responseto her text which simply stated “Reboot” – which, to my surprise, rebooted my phone.”
Only Android builds 1.0 TC4-RC29 are affected by this problem. if you own an Android powered phone and you want to know if you are vulnerable, do the following:
Go To Start then Settings then About phone and the OS Build will be displayed something like this:
“kila-user 1.0 TC4-RC29 115247 ota-rel-keys,release-keys”
This is fixed in the RC30 update last week, but it also block root access as well (jail breaking).
