OpenOffice.org 3.0 officially launched…download ready
October 14, 2008, Author: Cezar Renta
The popular open-source office suiteĀ OpenOffice.org had its 3.0 version update officially announced today by its developers. OpenOffice.org comes bundled with many new features and improvements but I think the most important are, its Mac OS compatibility and the support for the OpenDocument 1.2 Format standard.
The 3.0 version comes with new interface improvements and a new icon set, making the office suite more user-friendly and cute. Also, OpenOffice.org comes with support for the OOXML format, support for annotations and a brand new launcher.
With its 3.0 version, OpenOffice.org is starting to gain a very serious weight on the market, getting closer and closer to Microsoft Office..and all that free. Also, the Mac OS native compatibility introduced in this new version, will surely boost OpenOffice.org’s popularity.
As usual, you can download OpenOffice.org 3.0 free from our archive.
