Firefox 3.1 Beta: new, improved and 3D!
October 15, 2008, Author: Cezar Renta
For all the Firefox lovers, the 3.1 Beta has been launched for the public. This new beta version of Mozilla Firefox brings several new features but also some improvements worth mentioning.
The new Firefox features a faster Javascript performance, 3D tabbed browsing and full location-awareness. This is probably FIrefox’s “response” to Google Chrome, but I’m sure we will see more upcoming improvements for Mozilla. The new TraceMonkey engine does wonders to the Javascript, the improved performance is highly visible. Compared to Chrome, there isn’t still any trace of private browsing, but I’m guessing that the wait will be over soon.
As a conclusion, I think Mozilla didn’t take a vacation just yet and as we expected, the browser war got more intense and beneficial for us, especially with the arrival of Google Chrome.
Now, download Firefox 3.1 Beta and tell us what you think.
