The BitDefender family has crossed the Windows platform and gained a new member within the Mac OS universe. SoftWin, the team behind BitDefender, released the Mac version of the popular security software solution.
The software package includes the popular BitDefender scanner, real-time protection and automatic updates. BitDefender 2009 wants to keep your computer away from spyware, malware and viruses, all in real-time using the latest engine and signatures. While Mac users haven’t really needed a security solution, SoftWin’s intentions regarding BitDefender aren’t very clear so far.
BitDefender 2009 for Mac is compatible with Intel powered machines running on OS X 10.4 or above. Please be aware that this version is in its Beta phase and you can encounter several bugs or malfunctions of the software. Being a test software, it’s advisable to submit feedback to BitDefender regarding BitDefender 2009 for MacOS.
