Yahoo Messenger 9.0 has been officially launched!
If you were wondering when will the Beta testing for Yahoo Messenger 9.0 will end, well, it did. The long expected Yahoo Messenger 9.0 entered the stable release phase and it’s available for download.
Yahoo Messenger 9 has a more stylish interface, more spaced, better bolded and with bigger avatars. You have also the possibility to change the theme of Yahoo Messenger, changing its skin easyly with just 1 button. YM now also updates your status with your recent activity on your Yahoo services such as: MyBlogLog, Yahoo 360 etc. Newly added in this version, is the improved “Import Contacts” option, allowing you to import contacts from different mediums (other IMs, Facebook, Gmail, MySpace) at the same time. This service is handled by TrueSwitch, which crawls your social networking websites, emails or other instant messengers (if any).
Another new feature added in the 9th version of Yahoo Messenger is the Yahoo Messenger Pingbox, which allows users to chat in real time. Pingbox can be embedded on any site, allowing the webmasters to create a live chat community in seconds, very useful for bloggers or eBay sellers. The Pingbox is highly customizable, from colors, text fonts to greeting messages and offline messages.
Even if Yahoo Messenger 9.0 was launched in a hurry, with some competition from its counterpart, Windows Live Messenger, i think this version really bringed something on the table for the community and it’s here to stay.
