Windows 7 Pre-Beta launches next month

September 30, 2008, Author: Cezar Renta

windows-vista-logo-300x283Developers will be thrilled, Microsoft announced recently the pre-beta launch of the anticipated WIndows 7 operating system. Windows 7 attempts to “wash” the fiasco generated by Windows Vista at its release, but some are still very skeptical regarding this new WIndows version.

Developers will have the chance to see the new Windows 7 Alpha in action at the Professional Developers Conference in October. With his pre-beta launch, Microsoft clearly wants to stay on track with the final release, scheduled in 2010.

“With Windows 7 at PDC2008, you will see advances across the full range of Windows — including the kernel, networking, hardware and devices, and user interface,” - Denise Begley, Microsoft Marketing Manager.

Although Windows 7 started a big fuss worldwide, users should know that this new OS will be based on Vista’s kernel, rewriting a kernel from scratch wasn’t an option for a 2010 release. We should wait further informations in October, by then, try not to consider Windows 7 the “next Vista”…just yet.
