Walk through the City of London, taking in the iconic Gherkin, Lloyd's of London, the Monument and the once notorious Tower of London. Cross the river via the famous Tower Bridge and wander back along the South Bank to the Millennium Bridge – taking in the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern and more.HIGHLIGHTS
Beginning at St Paul's Cathedral see the works of two architects, 17th century Sir Christopher Wren and 21st century Sir Norman Foster. See the newly restored Temple Bar, the monuments in St Paul's churchyard, the church of St Mary le Bow, Roman Watling Street and the Temple of Mithras.
See The Bank of England and its museum, The Royal Exchange, The Swiss Re Tower and the inside-out Lloyd's of London building. Visit Leadenhall Market, and the Monument. Hear about the Great Fire of London, The Lutine Bell, Elizabeth Fry and audacious attempts to defraud the Bank of England. Discover some of the odd things Lloyd's of London have insured. Follow the riverside walk passing Billingsgate Market and Custom House to the once infamous Tower of London.
Walk across Tower Bridge hearing tales of near death incidents; pass City Hall and HMS Belfast to take a close look at London Bridge. Discover Southwark Cathedral, the Golden Hinde and London's notorious Clink Prison (now a museum). Marvel at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern, before returning to St Paul's via the impressive Millennium Bridge.Tour Length:
