This is the version of Open Flow Channels for iPhone / iPod Touch.
WAIT – If you have the pro version then you already have all the functionality in this app.
CALCULATE FLOW CAPACITIES FAST! OpenFlow Channels is a simple intuitive application for calculating flow capacities of open channels and pipes. It supports several cross sections including CIRCULAR, TRAPEZOIDAL, and RECTANGULAR, TRIANGULAR sections. Results are displayed below the data entry area making it possible to perform several calculations without navigating to other screens.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Simply launch the app and select your cross-section
2. Provide channel slope, flow depth, manning's n value, channel side slope and bottom width (where applicable)
3. Hit calculate button to update the results
FEATURES
New features will constantly be added, however, the application currently provides the following functionality:
1. Provides results in both ENGLISH and METRIC UNITS!
2. Support for CIRCULAR, TRAPEZOIDAL, RECTANGULAR, and TRIANGULAR channel and pipe cross-sections
3. Comprehensive look up table of over 70 manning's n-values for various materials in various conditions
4. In-app help showing the equations that are used for the computations relating to each cross-sectional shape with explanations of variables
5. Direct link to FlowSizer.com where several free online calculators related to hydraulics and hydrology are made freely available
