The Disaster City Guide is provided as a reference so that citizens can have an easy reference source of information about basic steps to take during a natural disaster. This guide mirrors the Ready.gov website created by the Department of Homeland Security and should be used as a supplement to your individual preparedness efforts. Citizens should always follow the advice of their local emergency management officials during a disaster and should utilize official channels of information such as your local elected officials, the National Weather Service and should follow the advice of local first responders.
