Belize: Business Traveler's Passport - Sale 40 off until Monday November 8!So you're about to head to Belize for a few
This is the version of Belize: Business Traveler's Passport for iPhone / iPod Touch.
[Sale: 40% off until Monday, November 8!]So you're about to head to Belize for a few days of meetings. But you realize: you have no idea what Belize is like.Sure, you know where you're staying. Maybe you've got a guidebook that describes places to visit if you manage to scrape together a few hours of sightseeing. But what's Belize really like for doing business?More practically:
- How should you greet your business partners?- If you're invited to someone's house, what sort of gift should you bring?
- If you bring flowers, are there any particular colors to avoid?- Are there any special considerations for female travelers?- Perhaps most importantly: if you order the Johnny cake, what on Earth is that going to look like? (hint: it's a dessert!)
Belize: Business Traveler's Passport is designed specifically for businesspeople. It contains over a hundred pages of information on Belize, focusing on areas of particular concern to the business traveler. While it does contain a small amount of information on hotels and sightseeing opportunities, these sections are intentionally light--this is not a travel guide! Seriously!Instead, it has entire sections of information on:* Belize Basics: A brief history of Belize, with some background and historical highlights.
* Country Facts: Demographics and other statistical data, with a basic offline map of the country.
* Doing Business: Greetings & courtesies, meeting protocol, business attire, business entertaining, etc.
* Women: As travelers, are there any special considerations in Belize? As a businesswoman, are any extra measures needed? How are belizean women treated in their own country?
* Money: What does the money look like? How much should different service people be tipped...if at all?
* Travel: Visa info, departure formalities, electrical system, etc.
* Safety: Emergency numbers, notes on street crime, hospital locations, health & medical care.
* Points of Interest: A few interesting museums and cultural sites, in case there's time after the meetings.
* City View: Background on Belize City, with a handful of hotel descriptions.
* Telephone System: The subtleties of dialing to & from Belize. There's even a section on how to use pay phones in Belize (without needing to read English).
* Life Cycle: From birth to marriage to old age, what's life like?
* Gift Giving: The subtleties of giving personal or business gifts.
* Holidays and Festivals: Solid background on the popular holidays and festivals.
* Religion: Info on Belize's religious climate.
* Superstitions and Folklore: Common superstitions, along with belizean stereotypes.
* Food and Recipes: Descriptions of common belizean foods, along with recipes for appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, and desserts, including chimole and cow foot soup (really!).
* Embassies: Embassy locations and contact info for the dozen or so countries with embassies in Belize. All content is 100% available offline without a network connection. However, street addresses are linked to the Maps app, URLs open up in Safari, and phone numbers & email addresses bring up the appropriate helper apps. For more screenshots & info, or to drop us a comment or question (shockingly, we enjoy hearing from customers!) visit us at http://www.ridic.com.[Note: Also available: the free Sampler: Business Traveler's Passport app--search the App Store for "ridicsampler".]Sure, you know where you're staying.
