The application stays open when being used and stops the device from going into power save mode.To use off the dock/charger, you can press the "Lock" button located on the top of the iPhone. The alarm clock will continue in the background and activate the alarm at the appropriate time. In this mode the battery is not drained, but you won't be able to see the clock display. However, the alarm will still go off at the right time.The calendar display automatically dims after 20 seconds.
