Geany 1.29

Geany - A feature-rich text editor based on the GTK2 toolkit

Geany is a comprehensive text editor designed for writing, editing and compiling code in a large number of programming languages. The application is open-source and based on GTK, offering an optimized IDE that can streamline writing and compliing code.

The tool is extremely small and was designed to have a low level of dependencies as well as high processing speed. Furthermore, Geany’s UI is clean and intuitive, allowing you to work with various file formats such as C, C#, Cython, Java, SQL, Perl, PHP, Lua, XML, Ada, Matlab and many others.

You can quickly start a project using one of the built-in templates that provide the essential code structure for the programming language of your choice. In the lower area of the main window, you can view a log with all past events and activities.

All the essential features of a code editor are also available in Geany, such as symbol auto-completion, syntax highlighting, code folding, code navigation, call tips as well as build and compile functions.

Geany 1.29 is licensed as Freeware for the Windows operating system / platform. Geany is provided as a free download for all software users (Freeware).
