CAB is a native format for compressed archives within Microsoft Windows OS. With support for compression and digital signing, this program is used in many Microsoft installation engine such as the Windows installer, Setup API, Device Installer and others.

CAB File Maker is a small utility used to create Microsoft .CAB files.

You can extract .CAB files using Winrar or an integrated CAB extractor within Windows XP. Just add new files to this folder, edit them as you wish and use CAB File Maker to re-compress them to CAB files.

CAB File Maker is using an MSDOS file, MAKECAB.EXE, for re-compression and saves or imports projects as .ddf files.

Cab File Maker 2.0 is licensed as Freeware for the Windows operating system / platform. Cab File Maker is provided as a free download for all software users (Freeware).
