You can make any one image smaller by applying a higher compression factor or change its format from TIFF to JPEG, from GIF to PNG, or from any other and into any other format of the various supported formats. If you need to publish a bunch of pictures on the Web, you can make them fit into certain pixel dimensions and save them as JPEG files no larger than a certain size with one convenient action.
