NxFilter-Cloud: Monitor Internet activity over LAN by creating a cloud webfilter

NXFilter-Cloud is a robust web application created to offer various options for local proxy and DNS filtering, which allows monitoring Internet activity for a local area network via a friendly GUI accessible from any web browser.

To use NXFilter-Cloud, you need a web browser installed and a working Internet connection, as it runs in the cloud and its interface is only accessible from an Internet browser. After you install the tool, you can launch it from its shortcut, or open a web browser and enter ‘http://localhost/admin’ in the address bar (to login use the default profile – username ‘admin’, password ‘admin’).

The admin has full privileges and he can create operator accounts. Furthermore, operator accounts are allowed to create user accounts, as well as individual policies. The application will monitor the network and show traffic and block trends in separate graphs.

The web-based interface is split into different sections which you can access at the top of the window. There you can customize the various aspects of how the application should work and behave. You can add and edit new operators in the related tab, ensure access to specific domains or keywords in the ‘Whitelist’ pane and define the administrator credentials in the ‘Config’ area.
