Growl - A east-to-use networking application

Growl is a global notification system capable of letting you know when certain events take place. The program can easily be configured to let you know when something happens through a subtle notification.

You can set up Growl to alert you when a download finishes, a friend comes online, new e-mail arrives and pretty much any other PC related event. You can choose to enable notifications for specific events, how you are notified (visually or audio) and what action should be taken (if any) in response to the notification (email, run a script, launch a program, or are read out loud). Additionally you can set up the importance of notifications, the type of display that is shown and if it should remain on the screen and many other aspects.
