ActiveLAN 3.02

ActiveLAN is an easy-to-use IP Switcher tool for logical switchover between several LANs/WLANs on multi-homed hosts under Windows. One of several Network Adapters or Connection Profiles can be enabled dynamically (on-demand). After the activation of a profile, the selected network is accessible for all new-started or re-launched applications. The other interfaces available in the host remain logically "disabled" (temporarily inaccessible) for local applications under Windows. A suspended LAN can be enabled any time with a mouse click on its profile in the GUI. Then the roles will be changed: the interface of the selected profile will be enabled (active) and all others disabled (suspended). While switching between the profiles, the tool changes automatically in the same step the proxy settings of the Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla Firefox, so that the proxy settings in your browser become adapted for the used LAN. The tool is useful, above all, for mobile Internet users who travel often between different locations or, as a matter of routine, must connect to one or another LAN/WLAN at a single location. The tool helps in particular when several network connections (NICs) are available in the notebook and, therefore, several LANs/WLANs are configured for IP at the same time and can be accessible. ActiveLAN does not store or control the Wi-Fi (802.11x) settings like SSID, wireless encryption types, keys, access passwords, etc. and should not be considered as a replacement for Wi-Fi Management Utilities to support your WLAN adapters. ActiveLAN is more useful for saving/restoring the IP configurations of the network interfaces and for logical switchover between multiple LAN/WLAN networks being simultaneously configured and accessible from your multi-homed PC via IP protocol.

ActiveLAN 3.02 is licensed as Shareware for the Windows operating system / platform. ActiveLAN is provided as a free to try download for all software users (Shareware).
