TIFNY - Newsreader finds and plays Photos and Music

TIFNY searches your favorite Usenet newsgroups, identifies the photo, music, and video files that interest you, and downloads them into its easy-to-use database. TIFNY opens up to 6 news server connections simultaneously using multiple connections to a single server or to multiple servers. TIFNY supports downloading in UUencode, Base64, and yEnc formats. And it handles large and cumbersome, multi-segment music and video files, automatically downloading, combining, and cataloging them for you.
You can scan the headers from your favorite newsgroups and then pick and choose the files you want to download. Or let TIFNY identify the pictures, music, and video files that interest you and download them without any manual intervention. If you're looking for songs by a particular artist, pictures of a specific actor, animal or flower and more you can search the headers by keyword to find exactly what you're looking for.
TIFNY learns from past usage, and utilizes that information to quickly and efficiently capture only what you want. The powerful filtering capability lets you ignore postings based upon author, organization, newsgroup, keywords, file type or size--before you incur the time and expense of downloading them.
All downloaded files are added to TIFNY's database, along with images and music that you add from your existing collection. TIFNY has a built-in MP3 player which includes a jukebox, a built-in image viewer lets you enjoy your images, and there's even a video player. TIFNY's thumbnailer makes it easy to browse your files by directory, newsgroup and file type. Plus you can locate them by keyword, author, date, or size. With TIFNY, you can sit back and watch the show, or listen to the music.
