GMail Drive shell extension - Virtual filesystem around your Google GMail

Gmail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual file system around your Gmail account, enabling you to store and retrieve files from your Gmail account from within Windows Explorer.

Gmail Drive adds a new drive in the My Computer folder where you can copy files (with drag and drop support included), create new folders, and retrieve them at any time, all of this stored on your Gmail account.

Gmail Drive is the perfect solution to use the large storage space provided by Gmail that most users are unable to fill. The e-mails will be displayed in your regular Inbox folder and attached files will be listed as e-mail attachments.

Gmail Drive will check your e-mail account on a regular basis (using the Gmail search function) for new files and if that is the case it will automatically rebuild the directory structures.

To avoid clutter in your Inbox folder you can always create a filter in Gmail ( prefixed with GMAILFS) to move files automatically to the archived mail folder.

Note: This is still an experimental tool that doesn’t fully use the available secure internet protocols and has some limitations such as total filename size must be less than 40 characters.
