Caprine: A simple app that lets you chat with your Facebook friends in private or group conversations

Caprine is a small tool that allows you to communicate with your Facebook friends from the comfort of your desktop, with no need to keep a Facebook tab opened in your web browser.

Obviously, to use the app you’ll need to have a Facebook account. It will prompt you to enter your Facebook user name and password, and then a list with all your open conversations will be displayed.

The main window is composed of three panes, where you can see a conversation log, your friends and groups list as well as additional information regarding a specific user or category. Since the layout resembles the one of Facebook chat, Caprine will feel familiar for anyone that uses Facebook.

The app offers access to all of Facebook Messenger’s features, including photo, video and file sharing with drag and drop support. Also, you can view the list of files you sent in a private or group chat, directly in the conversation window.

What’s more, Caprine provides the ability to receive alerts and notifications for new replies and messages.
