Mantel-Struct is a lightweight tool that was created in order to provide you with a simple means of detecting the structure of a population with the help of Mantel tests.

Load or enter a data set into the program's integrated text editor. Be sure to save a new data set to your computer's hard drive prior to conducting any analyses.

From the "Analyze" menu of the text editor, select the type of data set you want to analyze. At this time, Mantel-Struct can analyze binary data, multistate data, or a pre-calculated similarity/distance matrix. After making this selection, a new window will appear that prompts you to select options for your analysis.

Select the similarity measure that you want the program to calculate from your raw data. If desired, the program will convert this similarity measure to a distance. Note that you will only need to perform this step if your data set contains binary or multistate data.

Decide if you want to perform a simultaneous analysis of all groups in the data, an analysis of all pairwise combination of groups in the data set, or both. For each, you can specify if you want to perform the analysis with the permutational or asymptotic procedure. If performing a permutational procedure, you should specify the number of replicates to be used in the test.

Mantel-Struct 1.0 is licensed as Freeware for the Windows operating system / platform. Mantel-Struct is provided as a free download for all software users (Freeware).
