Born on 29 March 1963 in Cronulla, New South Wales, Elle Macpherson began her modelling career when she was signed to Click Model Management at age eighteen. Macpherson quickly rose to fame and soon appeared in many magazines and ads, she has appeared in Elle magazine numerous times and appeared in every issue for six straight years, she gained further popularity when she was seen on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue a record five times in 1986,1987,1988,1994 and 2006. Macpherson later posed nude for Playboy magazine and did work for Victoria's Secret. Macpherson later moved into film and in 1994 was in the movie Sirens, she was then in the films Batman Robin, Jane Eyre, If Lucy Fell and A Girl Thing. In 2001 Macpherson launched her own lingerie line called Intimates and released a series of calendars.
