SymbolChooser is a professional application designed to enable you to type documents in any language or even to create a new language with a new alphabet and new symbols.

The SymbolChooser word processor is especially useful to Conlang (Constructed Language) enthusiasts who desire to invent new languages and symbols. Conlang enthusiasts may have a keen interest in the study of human language and in the process of developing new languages; or they may be developing a new language for international communication or sending coded messages.

SymbolChooser gives Conlangers more freedom in creating languages because it allows created languages to be distributed in a standard program format whether these languages use the Latin alphabet or an entirely new created alphabet.

SymbolChooser is without equal as a word processor that integrates custom symbol creation with the standard operations that word processor users have come to expect.


SymbolChooser features :

- Existing text documents can be converted into SymbolChooser documents with the press of a button
- View or print your keyboard layout at any time
- Symbols can be positioned on different levels of the line
- Symbols are available and look different in each font/style
- Symbols can be viewed and edited on any computer that has SymbolChooser installed, not just the computer that the symbol was created on.
- Symbols can be inserted into a document with a single keystroke
- Foreign language symbols can be assigned to a keystroke by drawing the shape of the symbol rather than searching through a huge table of available foreign language characters.

Documents can be created in the four most common writing orientations of the world:
- Horizontal left to right
- Horizontal right to left
- Vertical with lines going right to left
- Vertical with lines going left to right.

- Document orientation is instantly changeable at any time
- Documents can be saved in Portable Document Format (PDF)

Requirements:

- 1 GB RAM
- 5 MB free hard drive space

Limitations:

- Each page is marked with the words "TRIAL MODE"
- Saving documents is disabled
- A maximum of 500 symbols will be shown in each document; after the 500th symbol each additional symbol will be displayed as a black rectangle
- Nag screen

SymbolChooser 2.1 is licensed as Demo for the Windows operating system / platform. SymbolChooser is provided as a free to try download for all software users (Demo).
