Trend Micro HijackThis is a free utility that provides a complete report of registry and file settings from your system.

The program’s scan results comprise both safe and unsafe settings allowing you to individually remove items identified as malicious or unwanted. Trend Micro HijackThis generates logs which need to be interpreted by advanced users. If you are not sure what items to remove it is best to let a more experienced friend to analyze the logs files to diagnose if and by what is your computer infected.

Instructions:

Download and install Trend Micro HijackThis. Generate a log file. To compare your log file against others, select the AnalizeThis option. If you don’t possess the knowledge required to understand your scan results, share the log file with an experienced person that can help you discover which items should be removed. Click the “Open online HijackThis QuickStart” option to access more advanced information on how to use the program.
